The Music Program and facilities at St Brendan's College are among the most inclusive, modern, and state-of-the-art in Central Queensland. Our Performing Arts Centre is a purpose-built facility, modeled on the best of the best in South East Queensland, providing an exceptional environment for students to develop their musical talents.
The College is proud that a significant portion of our students are involved in music, whether through private tuition or as part of the comprehensive music program embedded in the academic curriculum. At St Brendan’s College, music is for everyone—no prior knowledge is required, ensuring every student has the opportunity to participate, enjoy, and excel.
Students can engage with music in a variety of ways, whether within the classroom through a diverse range of music subjects or as an extra-curricular activity. Opportunities include private tuition and involvement in the College’s many ensembles and bands, allowing students to develop their skills and passion for music in a supportive environment.
Beyond the classroom, our music students play an active role in the community. The SBC Drumline and Concert Band proudly participate in the ANZAC March, with performances at the main service. Our students also share their talents through community outreach, visiting local nursing homes, supporting events like carols in the community, and performing at local schools. Within the College, they contribute to lunchtime concerts, assemblies, masses, and College celebrations, enriching the cultural life of our school.
At St Brendan’s College, music is more than just a subject—it is an experience that fosters creativity, community, and lifelong passion.
