Pastoral Care

At St Brendan’s College, pastoral care is central to supporting the growth and well-being of each student.

We offer a horizontal pastoral care structure designed to provide tailored support for your son throughout his secondary school journey.

Our Heads of Year specialise in addressing the unique challenges of each year level, ensuring they are well-equipped to guide students through the academic, social, and emotional demands of adolescence.

The Heads of Year play a pivotal role in monitoring student behaviour and well-being within their respective year levels. This includes:

  • Liaising with teachers, parents, and support staff to ensure each student's needs are met.
  • Convening weekly year level meetings to review events, reinforce expectations, and direct pastoral activities.
  • Organising and assisting with key events, such as year-level-specific camps, retreats, and formation initiatives.

The College is organised into two distinct schools:

  • Junior School (Years 7–9)
  • Senior School (Years 10–12)

Each school is led by an Assistant Principal (AP) and supported by three Heads of Year, ensuring focused, personalised care throughout your son’s journey at St Brendan's College.

To enhance these efforts, the College is supported by the Wellbeing Centre, which provides additional resources and services to promote emotional, mental, and social health.
