Our Teachers create and implement engaging educational activities, foster a positive learning environment, and guide students towards academic success and personal growth.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Plan, prepare and deliver engaging lessons in your subject area/s.
  • Interpret syllabus documents (Australian Curriculum Assessment & Reporting Authority (ACARA) & Queensland Curriculum and Assessment Authority (QCAA)) and develop relevant work programs and units of work in consultation with the Head of Department.
  • Implement the College Pedagogical framework and Behaviour Management processes to ensure a calm and supportive learning environment.
  • Assess, record and report on student progress in-line with college processes and deadlines.
  • Collect and interpret individual classroom data and enact changes to improve student outcomes.
  • Participate in Peer Mentoring and Peer Observation processes as part of the College professional development program.
  • Handle, with due pastoral concern, and with consultation with the Heads of Year, matters of discipline or student concern.
  • Communicate effectively with students, parents, and colleagues, to foster a positive learning environment.
  • Demonstrate leadership in the classroom, inspiring and motivating students to achieve their full potential.
  • Supervise students as scheduled.
  • Ensure the safety and well-being of students, adhering to safeguarding policies and practices.
