Years 7 - 12 day and boarding opportunities for boys
St Brendan’s College is one of 55 independent Edmund Rice Colleges within Australia, proudly upholding its Catholic identity. We have a reputation for producing friendly, hard-working, and down-to-earth young men who are generous in serving the community. Our commitment to our mission is reflected in our diverse academic and extra-curricular programs, providing boys with significant opportunities to grow into young men of knowledge, respect, and faith.
The College emphasises the development of the whole person and in particular, the need to grow boys into respectful, confident, and successful young men of faith. A proactive Pastoral Care program underpinned by the Edmund Rice ethos ensures boys understand and believe in service to the community in a spirit of justice and solidarity.
We have a strong academic program that offers multiple pathways for students to pursue tertiary education or move into trade-based qualifications, with a significant and renowned vocational education and training (VET) facility onsite. The College fosters strong industry partnerships through our involvement with the Gateway to Industries Schools program in the fields of Advanced Manufacturing, Agribusiness, and Digital Technologies. This combined with a new state-of-the-art STEM building, opened in 2023, further provides our students with cutting-edge educational opportunities.
The College is recognised nationally for its sporting prowess and has abundant extracurricular opportunities, including music, cultural and technology programs that are second to none in Central Queensland. Students have access to a 780-seat theatre, mountain bike trails, rodeo grounds, five ovals, and a swimming pool. Aside from our extensive sports program, we also offer a range of other extra-curricular activities including Cattle Club, Rodeo Club, Chess Club, Homework Club, and a range of Information Technology Clubs.
