2020 Valedictory
From solemn reflection to celebration, what a valedictory 2020 was to be!
Yet again COVID-19 regulations changed the run of an event steeped in tradition, but many believe this format was a fitting tribute to their six years of education.
The day began with Mass followed by words of praise and wisdom from College leaders and those who have mentored the Class of 2020 from boys into gentlemen.
Gift packs of memorabilia were gifted alongside the more momentous Senior Certification on their final walk across the Chapel stage.
Words of gratitude and appreciation were relayed by the boys in personal letters for their parents or guardians, which when read kindled many a tear.
Thereafter, students and parents were led by the School Captain on a parade of honour of the College, flanked by their peers, to a chorus of mighty cheers and congratulatory salutations.
After walking through a final archway of festivity to the sounds of the SBC Drumline, they were warmly welcomed by Old Boys to the next era of brotherhood and belonging via the St Brendan’s Old Boys Foundation.
The remainder of the afternoon was a relaxed lawn party, where boys and their families could mingle and snap more memories to hold in their hearts as their future beckons.
Well done boys, may you rise to your future.
